Blood Donation Camp
Bokaro Old Xavarians Association (BOXA) Organizes Blood Donation Camp
Bokaro, July 30, 2025 — In a heartfelt celebration of the 60th anniversary of St. Xavier’s School, Bokaro, and the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, Bokaro Old Xavarians Association (BOXA) , an alumni of St Xavier’s School organised a Blood Donation Camp at the school premises on July 30th, 2025. The initiative was held in collaboration with Sadar Hospital, Bokaro, which provides free blood to the poor and underprivileged including Thalassemia patients of the local community.
BOXA President Krishan Chand said this noble cause aligns with the Institute’s values of service, compassion, and solidarity with the marginalized. The camp aimed to donate blood for patients in urgent need, including children suffering from thalassemia, a condition requiring regular transfusions, as well as other vulnerable individuals lacking access to paid healthcare services.
BOXA Secretary Sajan Kapoor said
“We wanted to mark this school’s 60th birthday milestone not just with celebration, but with purpose,” “What better way to honour the legacy than by giving the gift of life to those who need it most?”
St Xaviers School Principal Father Arun Minj said "The event reflects the ongoing commitment of St. Xavier’s alumni to community service and the Jesuit mission of “men and women for others.”
All eligible donors, including alumni, parents, staff, and well-wishers, came forward to participate in this meaningful celebration. The collected blood will be managed by Sadar Hospital and made available to patients at no cost—ensuring that financial barriers never stand in the way of life-saving care.
BOXA thanked all those who joined in making a difference—because every drop counts.
